The reasons why this book is so sad:1. No one gets over Gobo's death which makes everyone all sad and unhappy.2. Bambi doesn't even know if he loves Faline anymore.3. Faline is feeling so droopy and depressed that if she were a human she'd probably kill herself.4. The old stag dies just when things get worse.5. Yet I was surprised to find that it was not a disappointment!Felix Salten's Bambi is the tale of a young stag and the future prince of the forest. Hidden deep in the woods with his mother, he watches as his animal friends grow and explore.

So after at first really and truly needing to get a bit used to Felix Salten's general writing style (and also having to lose my annoyance that in the beginning of Bambi: Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde, when Felix Salten is describing Bambi as a newly-born fawn, he makes use of the words blöd and duselig, he writes two descriptive adjectives that basically in German usually tend to signify major stupidity and are also often specifically used as insults in order to describe young Bambi as
