This book had been in my to-read list for a long, long time and finally, after many years, I got the opportunity to read it and without doubt, it has lived up to its potential! Classic, Nostalgia and Wow it's felt like some lost recollections.R K Narayan's Malgudi School Days bring back some nostalgic feelings which are disoriented in time. Such a sublime work from the author about the love and inculpability of a child. Swami, Rajam, Mani etc are integral components of our own childhood which we never wanted to forgot. Malgudi Schooldays as an abridged version of Swami and Friends was a delight to read. Made me remember my childhood days when I used to be an ardent follower of Malgudi Days on TV.Everyone knows that it is a wonderful piece and hence I dont really have much to say here :)

One of the finest books I have read. The book brought back fond memories of my childhood.My favorite chapter is where Swami is made to solve arithmetic sums by his father. The innocence of Swami brings a beautiful charm to this simple tale.
