Chronicle To Books The Call (Grey Land #1)

This book was so much better than I was expecting it to be! Mind you, I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style, but it didn't really affect my overall enjoyment of the story. This book is gruesome & horrific. At times I had to set the book down, because of how twisted it was getting, but then I'd pick it right back up, because I had to know what was going to happen! This is the perfect read if you're looking for a unique horror story!

I have read some good reviews about The Call, so I decided to give it a try myself...Well, I liked it, not as much as I expected to.The story is set in future Ireland which is cut off from the rest of the world. Well this is a very enjoyable tale well told. YA is not my favourite genre however there are always exceptions and this is one of them. This is compared a lot to the Hunger games (which is another YA I enjoyed) and the story really does have a lot in common with these books. What I really enjoyed though was the author taking the sanitised stories of the little people and fairies and bringing them back to the truly scary legends that there were of the Sidhe (or the old pagan gods of Ireland).
