Presence (Presence #1)
Telling a story about the importance of survival within any circumstances, however strange, and showing a girl-in-a-man’s-world angle, Presence is a novel about Samantha, a woman in her late twenties, both smart and attractive. One day, Samantha’s regular life is suddenly turned around as the fact of her existence is somehow erased from the world. Nobody seems to remember her, her own apartment is occupied by the uninvited tenants, and even her sister, the only family Samantha has, is unable to recognize her. Lost and confused, Samantha accepts help from a stranger, a charismatic man named Archie, whom she accidentally encounters and unwillingly joins him in his fight against the silent invasion of the planet, Alpha planet as he calls it; and he himself happens to be a soldier from a parallel one, Beta. The glass wall put between Samantha’s new life and her former life makes her discover the roadside of the world, dark and silent, the hidden place where her primary instincts come to the surface and she finally feels the urge to fight for herself and for others.
Im not sure how to properly review the book as I am a rookie in this genre (Science Fiction is not my typical read). However, I was very curious about this book just by its synopsis. So with that being said, I will simply drop a few lines to talk about the book from my personal perspective. It took me a few tries to adapt to the writing (I felt it dry and ironic in places) and it was not an easy read, but once I got into the stride of it, I settled right in. I dont regret the time I took to go
I couldn't believe the awful grammar and poor spelling, Was it written by a 12-year-old or just somebody too lazy to correct the dozens of glaring errors? I managed to get almost half way through before stumbling over so many careless mistakes that I had to give up. I have found many such books, obviously self published, obviously not corrected, and I have abandoned Amazon for this reason. Why does everybody think that they are writers when it is patently obvious that they couldn't write a

Wow. The amount of people giving it 5 stars before they've read it and before even a blurb. What an absolute joke. I hope you don't think people are falling for this?
I received prior released, a free digital copy of this book from the author.(Yes, I took my time to read it :P)This story is totally awesome! From the beginning you are caught with a need to know what is that "noise".However, I don't give it five stars because I feel like it is necessary develop the characters a little bit more. There is too many "blanks" on the story; sometimes it moves on too fast and another times too slow. The soldiers invading Alpha... the trick balls, the System... Tim,
Sorry for writing this horrible rating, but I must warn others about this book. I looked this book up on Goodreads and saw the amazing reviews. "Awesome!" I said, and bought it.Then I started reading. Oh. My. Gosh. By the time I was at page 50, there had been two sexual scenes, not to mention the cursing. And by the end of the book, the main character, Sam, had had sex MANY times and raped once. This is not worthy of one star in my opinion.
Although this was my first Sci-Fi read, I really enjoyed it! It's full action, mystery, with just a touch of romance. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire read. The imagination it took to write this was amazing and i definitely can't wait to read more from this author. 5 STARS!

Full disclosure - I couldnt make it even a quarter of the way through this book. I found it through good reads where it somehow has above one star (which if there was a lower star, or a negative star I would give this book that star). I am obsessed with parallel universes, sci-fi, fantasy, it is kinda my deal - so I go into things like this wanting to love it, wanting to not have to go and find another book about alternate worlds because its a bit of a pain to do that. The amount of it that IIm not sure how to properly review the book as I am a rookie in this genre (Science Fiction is not my typical read). However, I was very curious about this book just by its synopsis.
