And then a miracle happens. The locket burns on Katie's chest and she feels herself going back two weeks in time, to the night she cheated with Mitch. At first, Kate is delighted to be a better girlfriend to Isaac this time around. Review posted here. This has got to be one of my favorite reads of 2011. Frankly, I think the plot is a little clichéd, but I so love how the story was executed. The summary provides the readers the idea on how the story is going to play out. The Locket begins on Katies birthday, October 10. Exactly two weeks after she cheated on Isaac. Katie still feels guilty about it, but she just tells herself to forget about it because it was a mistake and it will never happen again. While she is preparingMy Thoughts: Whoa. Lately, I have been wondering what it would be like to go back in time and relive my mistakes, to have the opportunity to redo everything. This book did just that for me. No silly, I did not go back in time and change my life but I got to experience Kate's biggest mistake with her. Kate, is dating Isaac, popular Issac. Everyone likes Issac. He's into sports and every girls dream guy. Kate has been dating him for a few years so they are pretty much themselves around each other.
The Locket must be the sweetest time-travel book out there! Some will say it was a total cliché but it had so many twists so you never know what will happen next and you can't wait to see which guy will Kate pick. Will it be Isaac or Mitch? The story will just suck you right in. And let me tell you there were a few huge shockers. While reading, the book went from 3 to 4 until at the end it reached 5 stars. Those people who know me can tell I don't give 5 star rating unless I really loved it(read
If you were given the chance to fix your biggest mistake, would you take it?Life as Isaac's girlfriend was pretty much perfect for Katie. Until the night she messed everything up by cheating on him with their mutual best friend, Mitch. Katie is devastated over her mistake- and she'll do anything to get Isaac back. Then on her seventeenth birthday, she discovers a strange and beautiful locket. Katie puts it on and finds herself going back in time- to the night she and Mitch kissed. Katie is
Wow, this book was an intense roller-coaster ride. From the first chapter, all the way to the last, I was racing through trying to figure out what happens, hoping and praying everything turns out okay. I thought I had it pegged multiple times only to be proved wrong, yet again, that I had it wrong. This book was so frustrating I was almost to the point of throwing it at the wall--or out the window if I could get it open. But that doesn't mean it was bad; the frustration kept me reading in the
It took me a little while to read this. I'm used to Jay's wry humor in her Megan Berry books (You are so Undead to Me and Undead Much?) or her satirical humor in My So-Called Death. So in other words I'm used to her Zombie humor. The Locket is a completely different horse. Jay's wit is evident--Katie is nothing if not a quick thinker--but it just didn't grab me the same way.Everybody has mistakes they wish they could undo, so when Katie gets the ability to she jumps at the chance. Who thinks of
Contains Spoilers In The Locket by Stacey Jay, Katie makes a huge mistake that ultimately ends her relationship with her boyfriend Isaac. Prior to this she finds a locket that belongs to her grandmother and once she starts to wish to take back her mistakes she gets to go back in time and have a second chance. However, this is not without consequences. I thought the story had a lot of promise, but in the end it just didn't live up to my expectations. What could have been a great story just left
