Commentary Supposing Books Sisters

Four sisters, a Manhattan brownstone, and a tumultuous year of loss and courage are at the heart of Danielle Steel's new novel about a remarkable family, a stunning tragedy--and what happens when four very different young women come together under one very lively roof.
Candy-it's the only name she needs--is blazing her way through Paris, New York, and Tokyo as fashion's latest international supermodel. . . .
Her sister Tammy has a job producing the most successful hit show on TV, and a home she loves in L.A.'s Hollywood Hills. . . . In New York, oldest sister Sabrina is an ambitious young lawyer, while Annie is an American artist in Florence, living for her art. . . . On one Fourth of July weekend, as they do every year, the four sisters come home to Connecticut for their family's annual gathering. But before the holiday is over, tragedy strikes and their world is utterly changed.
Suddenly, four sisters who have been fervently pursuing success and their own lives--on opposite sides of the world--reunite to share one New York brownstone, to support each other and their father, and to pick up the pieces while one sister struggles to heal her shattered body and soul. Thus begins an unscripted chapter of their lives, as a bustling house is soon filled with eccentric dogs, laughter, tears, friends, men . . . and the kind of honesty and unconditional love only sisters can provide. But as the four women settle in, they are forced to confront the direction of their respective lives. As the year passes and another July Fourth approaches, a season of grief and change gives way to new beginnings--as a family comes together to share its blessings and a future filled with surprises and, ultimately, hope.
With unerring insight and compassion, Danielle Steel tells a compelling story of four sisters who love and laugh, struggle and triumph . . . and are irrevocably woven into the fabric of each other's lives. Brilliantly blending humor and heartbreak, she delivers a powerful message about the fragility--and the wonder--of life.

Assessment Containing Books Sisters
I am not a huge Danielle Steel fan but this book's title, "Sisters" and blurb on the back caught my eye (I am one of three girls so ya, I have sisters). Interestingly enough, I didn't completely hate it. It had the makings of a good story. However, there were some serious turnoffs about it. The major one being the author's characters are almost, in a sense, overcooked. For me, I prefer to have the characters remain a bit pink so they retain some flavor! I, also like to develop my own opinion of

The best part about this book is Tammy's pet dog Juanita. There's nobody else in the book who even stood out as an individual character. It was written horribly and repeated everything, like I'm going to do right here while saying this book is terrible.WHO EDITED THIS???? Or has this book even been edited? Why is everything repeated like 20 times? I don't need to be told that their mother likes having them home once every paragraph (I'm not kidding, I hope I was). Or that Candy is very

This book is written so horribly. Every sentence is a simple sentence, with not syntax variation. Steel describes the sisters to detail but then can't keep the details straight throughout the whole book. The book seems to be an exploration into "Telling, not showing" (which is the opposite of what good writers do...). There was little to no dialogue, and every idea gets repeated 15 times because clearly you can't understand it the first 14 times. Certainly an easy read, if a bit painful to have

A good story about four sisters whose lives vastly change in a matter of one day. I loved that Steel built upon how different the sisters were from each other and developed a story about how they come together regardless of the differences. Had enough drama to weave some intensity but overall its the emotions of this read that readers will grip. Really good book.

Sisters by Danielle Steel was actually recommended to me by my mom. She thought this book would be enjoyable for me and she was right! I gave this 4 stars because while reading this book there was many times when tears actually started to fill my eyes. This is the story of 4 sisters, all completely different from each other but extremely close with one another. Their mother and one of the middle sisters, Annie, get into a horrible car accident. Their mother unfortunately does not make it,

It's sad when you build up such high expectations for something and then come to the reality that no, you set the bar far, far too high, this doesn't even come close to meeting those expectations. That's how I felt about this book.I have never read anything by Danielle Steel before, and I highly doubt I will read anything by her again after this. Though to be fair, this was the first and only time I had ever been interested in pursuing a book of hers. I liked the premise of Sisters, it sounded

NB: I haven't actually finished this. While the first few chapters were unintentionally hilarious, by about page 100 I couldn't take it anymore. There might be a good story in here but it's so badly written I'm not willing to look for it.
