Bestselling author Tommy Tenney expands the extraordinary story of Esther like no novelist has done before. Both a thriller and a Jewish woman's memoir, Hadassah takes readers to ancient Persia (now known as Iran), into the inner sanctum of the palace and back out into the war zones of battle and political intrigue. This gripping drama of a simple peasant girl chosen over many more qualified candidates to become Esther, Queen of Persia, captures the imagination and fires the emotions of men and women alike.

Criticism Based On Books Hadassah: One Night with the King (Hadassah #1)
Hadassah: One Night with the King is a superb retelling of the inspiring journey of a young Jewish girls rise to Queen of Persia. Traumatized by the death of her parents and filled with doubts and anger at G-d, Hadassah lives an isolated and protected life in the household of her cousin Mordecai, a royal scribe at the court of Xerxes. With the fall from grace of Queen Vashti, the plot heats up when Memucan the Master of Audiences persuades the King to look for a new wife from a bevy of Persias

A wonderful story based on the Book of Esther. Before you read this book, I recommend that you read from the Book of Esther to familiar yourself with the whole story. There are a number of times reading through Hadassah that I had to stop, because of the tears in my eyes that this novel produced.

So, I don't often read Biblical fiction but I tried this one. It was okay but I'm not likely to reread it. There were some things that I felt wouldn't be like they were in Biblical times.

Hmmm... what I will point out here, is that Hadassah: One Night with the King was well-written and very interesting. Very stunning novel based on the book of Esther from the Bible. However, I say BASED, because there were a few things that didn't seem quite historically acurate concerning Hadassah and her story. And, her search for revenge at the end of the book didn't leave me with a nice feeling.I don't want to completely write it off though. A lot of people would enjoy it, I'm sure. But as

Hadassah is a great book for those who know about the Esther story. She was raised by her cousin and she practiced her jewfish religion. She was then gathered with other young women to be chosen by the king of that time. The king chose Esther. But then an evil servant of the king tricks the king to make a law to banish and kill the Jewish people. And hadassah was raised around the Jewish world. She knew the king loved her so she convinced the king to make another law to help the Jewish. The book
